Turn Down for…?

Recently I was being interviewed for a new position and I was asked to rate myself on a scale of 1-10 in certain areas. These areas included self-discipline, knowledge of instructional practices, classroom management, family engagement, building relationship, and one that tripped me up-anger management! lol

In all of these areas I rated myself no less than a 9 because I know myself! Now some of you may think, “Well, she’s arrogant!” “Well, she’s pompous!” “Well, she thinks highly of herself!” And guess what? I do! I think very highly of myself! Why? Because I know who I am and what I am capable of. Most importantly, I know WHOSE I am!

I belong to the Great I AM! I am the child of the MOST HIGH! I am God’s child and as brightly as HE shines, so can I! As His child He put a light in me that cannot be put out! That light causes me to shine! And what would cause me to turn it down? NObody or NO one!

Now here’s the best part- YOU have that same light in you! Your job- DO WHAT MAKES YOU SHINE! Find your passion, let it fuel your purpose, and realize the Dream that lies within you! Shine with the confidence, the passion, and the purpose you were created with. And guess what? Don’t turn it down for ANYone or ANYthing! Lisa Nichols, founder of Motivating the Masses says, “It’s not your job to dim your light!” Let that light shine bright so that the world may know WHO you are and WHOSE you are!

So again I say, turn down for…?? NOTHING, NOBODY or NO ONE! Do what makes you shine, and don’t stop until the world can see your light as brightly as I do!
