You Are What You Think!

BElieving-The Power of a Positive Mind

I’ve struggled with my self-image over the years and although we don’t like to admit it, we have all had moments of self-doubt! Can you think of a time when you have struggled with your self-esteem?

For me, the battle has always been my size! I was born a premature twin sister to my one and only brother- whom I love dearly! As a result of being born before my lungs were fully functional, I developed a case of severe asthma at an early age. From the time I was 18 months old I was in and out the hospital unable to breathe. The doctors solution, medications upon medications-most of which included growth hormones and steroids! I went from a 5T to a women’s 15 seemingly overnight!

Needless to say I was teased and taunted most of my days! I often cried my way through the day until one day I figured out that my size made me different-but in the best way!

It made me noticeably unique and gorgeously gracious! It took me a while to realize that people didn’t hate me because of my size, they hated me because I loved my size! I loved ME, and ALL of me! People hated my confidence in me!

But I didn’t always have that mindset, and it’s wasn’t always in me to say- But one day looking in the mirror I said, “I am Beautifully Big, Bold, and Brown; and I am in love with the skin I’m in!”

I repeated this affirmation until it became so real that it was evident everywhere I went! I wear my confidence with pride and assurance that I am fearfully, beautifully, and wonderfully made! And Guess what? So are You!

You are beautiful and stunningly YOUnique, and You deserve every good thing God has for you if only you Believe!

With Love and Blessings,
