You don’t know my story….

In honor of #tbt #flashbackfriday or any other throwback of the week, here’s my testimony. I’m ready to let this out once and for all….
At age 2 I was diagnosed with chronic asthma, at 3 my mom was given 6 months to live. At 8 I had to be resuscitated, by 10 I needed constant treatment to breathe. At 11, I became a smoker, by 12 I took my “last” breath. At 13 I was raped, by 15 I attempted suicide. At 16 I became an alcoholic, by 17 I was addicted to prescription drugs. At 18 I suffered my first miscarriage, at 19 I became paralyzed by a deadly disease. At 20 I lost my grandmother, got married, and gave birth to my first child. By 22 I became a homeless, divorced, single mother of 2. At 23 my mom was given less than a year, at 25 I became a college graduate and single mom of four. Here I am now, a 27 yr old survivor praying my mother through the third deadliest disease of her life!
All my life people have judged us for what we did or did not have, what we could or could not do, and where we should or should not go, but they never took the time to know my story. And no I may not have everything I want, but I thank God for a praying family that taught me how to pray my way through! Without a relationship with God who knows where I would be. Today I’m choosing to strive, survive, and to thrive! I’m choosing to live through this and I’m claiming victory over every trap of defeat the enemy has set for me! Tired of losing, so it’s our time to win! Standing on the promises of God because I know MY God never fails! #youdontknow #MYstory #weR #victorious #VictoriousLife #victoriousliving

I shared this testimony with my Facebook family this time last year, and it was a major breakthrough in my life. I continue to thank and praise God for the things He has done, and for all that He is going to do in my life. But this time around I decided to share this with the world!
I know many times as I child I heard the staying what goes on in this house, stays in this house-and I believe that still reigns true. Nobody truly needs to know your comings and goings but God. But as I have learned this past year, sometimes it’s okay to share our story. It’s okay to let someone in, just make sure that person is listening to help, and not to hurt! If no one knows our understand your story, how can they truly know you?
The word says we overcome by the blood of the lamb and the power of our testimony! Let your story set you free! It may not chance the events of your past, but it will certainly make way for a better future. Trust that God took you through it for just a season, and that He brought you out for a reason! Choose to believe in the plans that He has for you, and let your story bring glory to all you have been through! #choose2believe

Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
